Overview

HalalKompass.com is a specialized web platform designed to serve as a directory for Halal restaurants. The project aims to assist users in easily locating Halal-certified dining options in their vicinity.

Map Integration & Navigation

A core feature of the platform is its location-based service. I integrated MapBox to provide interactive maps, allowing users to visualize restaurant locations, check addresses, and generate directions directly from the interface.

Community Features

To ensure the database remains accurate and up-to-date, the platform includes a "Report a Restaurant" feature. This allows the community to contribute by adding new spots or flagging inaccuracies, creating a crowd-sourced approach to maintaining the directory.

Technical Stack

The project was built using a modern frontend stack to ensure speed and SEO performance:

• Frontend: Built with React.js and Next.js to ensure high performance and scalability.
• CMS: Integrated Notion API as a headless CMS, allowing for easy data management of restaurant listings directly through a Notion database.
• Maps: Leveraged MapBox for custom map rendering and geolocation services.
